Remembering Pete
Pete was a 37-year member of USPS/America’s Boating Club. He began his service with the Neptune Sail and Power Squadron, where he served as Commander. Following a job transfer to St. Augustine, he became a member of the Jacksonville Sail and Power Squadron (JSPS).
During his many years with JSPS, Pete held numerous leadership positions and was recognized with 36 Merit Marks for his exceptional service. His passion was education, and he generously shared his extensive knowledge of boating and navigation with countless students and fellow members. Much of the training material he developed continues to be used today.
For many years, Pete served as the Master of Ceremonies for our annual Change of Watch. He carefully scripted each program and warmly welcomed members, guests, and incoming officers with his trademark professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine enthusiasm.
Pete will be remembered for his warm smile, kind spirit, dedication to excellence, and unwavering commitment to boating education. His contributions have left a lasting legacy within our Squadron, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and serving alongside him.
The Supreme Commander has called our shipmate to sail with Him in eternal calm waters, forever free from the storms and tempests of mortal life.
Fair winds and following seas, Pete.
Thank you for your friendship, your leadership, and the legacy you leave behind.
