Vessel Safety Checks
Vessel Safety Checks (VSC) are a community service offered by the United States Power Squadrons®. Members are trained to conduct inspections in accordance with standards set by the United States Coast Guard.
What the inspection covers
The VSC inspector will check your boat’s required equipment and overall condition to ensure it meets U.S. Coast Guard requirements. After a successful inspection, you will receive a decal verifying that your boat has passed.
If something needs attention
If there is a deficiency in equipment or condition, you will receive a copy of the inspection sheet identifying the area that needs attention. This enables you to acquire the necessary equipment or correct the condition. Once corrected, you can request a reinspection and receive the decal after passing.
